Meaning
of Love
All the things I thought
were mine don’t matter anymore.
Dreams and schemes for money
have all fallen on the floor.
Cause
I’ve seen my face reflected in the tears of a child,
And the greed for empty
feelings has erased my childlike smile.
Can you teach me the meaning
of love?
I thought the grass was
greener, over on the other side.
So I left the ones who loved
me, had to hold on to my pride.
I fell so fast and far no one
could reach me where I am,
And I knew God’s grace was
endless, when He took me by the hand.
He began to teach me the
meaning of love, of lo--ve
Cause I’ve seen the fears of
a child as he hungered for the things in life, that could make him smile.
And I’ve heard the cries of
a mother as her tears fell on the
face
of her child, that she cradled in her arms.
And I know, I know, there is
more to life then what I make or steal.
Cause
those things don’t matter when your standing in the cold.
So I fall, I fall, on my
knees, lift my voice to God in prayer.
Asking
His forgiveness. Cause
a broken life is all I have to give.
It’s not much, but it’s all
I have to give.
Take this heart of stone oh
Lord and break it on the Rock.
Can’t you take this empty
soul of mine and fill it to the top?
Won’t you take my hand, and
lead me out of the things that I’ve become
Cause
the things that matter were the things I lost,
but
through your death you won.
When you rose like the sun, and
set me free.
I fell so fast and far no
one could reach me where I am,
And now I know God’s grace is
endless, cause He took me by the hand.
And He taught me the meaning
of love, of love.
