Left Behind

It was a hot September night, seems like so many years ago.

I was looking for the light, I had been blinded by the road.

I thought the searching was the reason but the reason left my mind.

And I was sure that I’d been left behind.

Yes, I was sure that I’d been left behind.

Sweat roled down my face, I felt the salt sting in my eyes.

The taste of loneliness was on my tounge, and my throat felt oh so dry.

There was nothing sweet about my life, no the sweetness had all died.

And I was sure that I’d been left behind.

Yes, I was sure that I’d been left behind.

Chorus

What are you waiting for? Someone to bust down the door.

Are your eyes so blind that you cannot see what’s infront of you?

What are you livin’ for?  Just yourself or something more.

There’s so much you could do if you could see the truth!

It was a hot and dusty day, seemed like so many years ago.

I was lookin’ for the light, I saw him coming down the road.

They put a cross upon his back, it weighed heavy on my mind.

But he did it so I won’t be left behind.

Yes, he did it so I won’t be left behind.

What if I’m right and you’re wrong?  What’cha gonna sing for a song?

When you’re standing there with Jesus right infront of you.

Tell me will you think of a line, gonna try to buy you some time.

No the bibles very clear, of what will happen then.

The ones he knows will inter and the others find their end.

Blood flowed down his face, he felt the salt sting in his eyes.

The taste of loniness was in his heart, his throat felt oh so dry.

There was nothing sweet about this death, no the sweetness had all died.

But he did it so I won’t be left behind.

Yes, he did it so you won’t be left behind.

Chorus

Find the truth, of who it is who sets you free.

Paid the price, spilt his blood on Calvary.  Took the pain, the shame,

and the misery.  Because he knew who you could be.
